Maruti Suzuki is all set to shake up the mid-size SUV market with the launch of its all-new Victoris SUV on 3rd September 2025. Slotted between the Brezza and the Grand Vitara, the Victoris aims to deliver premium features at an affordable price, taking direct aim at popular rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

Maruti Victoris: Positioning & Design
Unlike the premium Grand Vitara, which is sold via Nexa outlets, the Victoris will be retailed through Maruti’s Arena dealerships, making it more accessible to a wider audience.
While Maruti hasn’t revealed the complete design yet, teaser images suggest:
- A bold, Grand Vitara-inspired front fascia
- New LED headlamps and DRLs
- Sporty alloy wheels
- Strong body lines for a muscular stance
Engine Options & Performance
The Maruti Victoris is expected to come with three engine options:
- 1.5L Petrol (103 hp) – Available with 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission; automatic variant may also get AWD.
- 1.5L CNG (88 hp) – Focused on fuel efficiency, ideal for budget-conscious buyers.
- 1.5L Strong-Hybrid Petrol (116 hp) – Promises better mileage, smoother performance, and lower emissions.
Interior & Technology
Inside, the Victoris is expected to borrow several features from the Grand Vitara, including:
- 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system
- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- Digital instrument cluster
- Wireless charging pad
- Ambient lighting and premium upholstery
- Automatic climate control and rear AC vents
Maruti is also expected to include six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, and ADAS-ready hardware in higher trims.
Competition in the Mid-Size SUV Segment
The Maruti Victoris will compete directly with:
- Hyundai Creta (facelifted version arriving in 2025)
- Kia Seltos
- Volkswagen Taigun facelift
- Skoda Kushaq facelift
- Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder
With an extensive Arena dealership network of 3,000+ outlets, Maruti aims to grab a bigger share of this hot-selling segment.
