Suzuki Gixxer 250 Recalled Over Rear Brake Issue, Suzuki V-Strom SX rear caliper mistakenly installed on Gixxer 250

It has been discovered that a rear brake caliper assembly intended for the V-Strom SX was incorrectly fitted onto 5,145 units of the Gixxer 250 and 250 SF motorcycles produced between February 2022 and June 2025. While these bikes remain usable in the short term, this incorrect fitment can cause the brake pads to press against the disc unevenly, leading to accelerated and irregular pad wear. This can result in a noticeable drop in braking efficiency over time.

Suzuki is initiating a service campaign to address this. They will inspect and replace the incorrect calipers with the right Gixxer 250 units free of cost.
Owners of Gixxer 250 and 250 SF motorcycles manufactured during this period are advised to have their motorcycles inspected at the earliest to ensure braking performance is not compromised.
The Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer SF 250 are powered by a 249cc single-cylinder SOHC 4V oil-cooled engine, capable of churning out about 26.5 hp and 22 Nm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
